Utopia Student Project

The objective of this project is to develop a greater understanding of Utopian (commonly referred to as Dystopia) literature,

Goal #1 – read one of the five novels assigned (We, 1984, Brave New World, Blindness, Erehwon)

Goal #2 – demonstrate a deeper understanding of the author’s use of thematic development to convey the how Utopian societies develop into Dystopian

Goal #3 – develop a greater understanding of project management, task development, and collaborative project development

Goals #4 – develop activities designed to enhance the class’s understanding of the novel

The following project markers are structured to guide you through the process of developing an oral and written product.

1. One page summary of Utopian literature

2. Time-line of project tasks

3. Task assignments

4. One page summary of project product

5. Final paper and oral presentation

The project will be graded using a rubric that will contain items of project development and presentation, collaboration effort, and novel understanding.
